Gathering Together

Yesterday was the "mondayist" Tuesday ever!

I didn't have coffee creamer at home, didn't realize that I had left my lunch at home until I got to work. Things piled on me at work. Toxic attitudes at work. I was ready to go home and go to bed at the end of the day.

But...... I had a ladies Bible study to go to that evening. I didn't want to go. I was so tired.

I am so glad that I went to that ladies Bible Study! We ate together, a devotional was given, a recipe shared and a craft enjoyed. I left refilled with encouragement.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV): "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near".

I needed love and encouragement from my friends. I am sure others needed love and encouragement from me. I was so close to neglecting what we are told to do. Meeting with other christians is important to stir each other up with love and encouragement for each other and for the Lord.

When we are feeling low we should seek out those that can "stir up" love and encouragement. We all have something to bring and share with each other. God didn't put us here to be alone. We are to gather and build each other up so we are prepared to share the gospel with joy and encouragement.

I pray that we are all encouraged to seek each other out to give and receive what God prescribes for us!

1 Corinthians 14:26 (ESV): "What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up".
