Friends

Mark 2:1-5

Have you heard the saying - "The older you get, the smaller your circle."? I have found this to be true in times of my life. As you go about living and major events take place, you see who is left standing in your circle of friends. BUT, as you go about living, new friends come in and out of your circle. We could say that our circle of friends is ever evolving. People come and people go. You are also part of someone else's ever evolving circle. Some friends remain for a lifetime and some for a short period. If you really think about it, it's quite beautiful how God moves people.

I think about the story of the paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus by his friends. "Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them." Mark 2:3

The line to see Jesus was so long and his friends climbed the house with him and lowered him through the roof to be healed! Amazing friends!! It was by their faith that Jesus saw and He healed the man.

Oh, to have friends like that. Friends that pray with you. That cry with you. That rejoice and praise God with you! Friends that will carry your burdens with you while you both move toward Jesus. And oh, to be that friend!

I am blessed to have friends like that. Friends that are still by my side after years together. Friends from long ago that have reconnected. New friends that make living beautiful! I hope and pray that I am a friend that resembles the paralyzed man's friends.
