In the Bible, widows are special to God because they represent the deeply vulnerable and marginalized whom He promises to personally defend, protect, and care for. Vulnerable is a fitting adjective to describe my journey as a widow. I lost my person in an instant. Major decisions needed to be made and I didn't have him to confer with. The comfort and assurance he gave me was gone. I was numb and in shock. Everyone else continued with their lives, but I was stuck, not moving. I was vulnerable.
My life is shifting to full dependance on God. Sometimes, that is hard and humbling. I want to be able to be independant and resolve issues on my own. God has stopped me in my tracks and put me in my place several times.
Hewbrews 13:5 "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
I have to cling to God's promise that he will never leave me and he will not forsake. He is my provider and defender.
I have come a long way in my Faith in God. He put people in my life and on my path to walk beside me and carry my burdens with me. I trust he is preparing me for something good!
God is so Good!
